POETRY GROUP

You can share your experiences, happy or sad, on a variety of subjects on the first Monday of the month at 1:00 PM.

You can bring poems that you like, your own works, or simply come and listen. You may find that you have a hidden talent just waiting to be discovered, or you just have a curiosity about what people think or write.

The only prerequisite you must possess is the ability to be a good listener.

All are welcome.

The class is taught by Loretta White, retired Plum High School AP English and Creative Writing teacher.

EVENING BOOK CLUB

The book club meets on the fourth (4th) Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. 

This diverse group has been meeting for several years and has approximately 20 members with 10-15 in attendance at each meeting.  The reading list includes  a wide range of genres – historical fiction, history, local interest, mysteries, and general interest.  Members suggest books throughout the year and from those suggestions a book list is developed for the coming year.

The group also plans occasional outings during the year such as a one day trip and a Christmas dinner.

COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY (CCAC) CLASSES

We have partnered with CCAC to provide classes and opportunities for members to take advantage of through the calendar year.

All classes are located at the Plum Community Center.

As providers of Allegheny County Services, we offer classes from CCAC at no cost to county residents aged 60 and over.
